While I was unpacking my stuff I threw in some laundry. 20 minutes go by. I leave my room to do who knows what and as I walk onto the tile I see that there is about an inch of water flowing out of the laundry room. The water return had come unhooked from the drain so it all drained onto the floor. I turned off the washer and grabbed a mop. Got it all cleaned up without any damage done. S.A.M. slept through the whole thing. I'm debating if I'm going to tell her or not.

Obligitory

So xanga sent me an e-mail and said that I have to post an entry or they are gonna delete my account. So...here it is.

What have I been up to since I've been back to St. Louis?

I went to Florida a few times:

<a I'll be getting my degree to teach high school theater.
I hope God blesses you all with the good friends and fun times he has rained down on me. It hasn't all been rainbows and sunshine. It's about 100 yards long and right at the bottom there is a lake. So in the winter time there is always a wall of hay barrells surounding the lake so no one sleds into it. So what I'm saying is, we go sledding in front of a beautifuly built art museum and to whole town comes out to do it. Sometimes St. Louis can feel so much like home.

33) Because when everyone came out to participate in said sledding hill som eone got the amazing idea to put a couch on skiis so I went down art hill on a couch. THIS PLACE ROCKS!!!

Wednesday, December 06, 2006

"More than any other disciple, Matthew had a clear idea of how much it would cost to follow Jesus, yet he did not hesitate a moment. When he left his tax collecting booth, he guaranteed himself unemployment. For several of the other disciples, there was always fishing to return to, but for Matthew, there was no turning back. Two changes happened to Matthew when he decided to follow Jesus. First, Jesus gave home a new life. He not only belonged to a new group; he belonged to the Son of God. He was not just accepting a different way of life; he was now an accepted person. For a despised tax collector, that must have been wonderful. Second, Jesus gave Matthew a new purpose for his skills. When he followed Jesus, the only tool from his past job that he carried with him was his pen. From the beginning, God made him a record keeper. Jesus' call eventually allowed him to put his skills to their finest work. Matthew was a keen observer, and he must have mentally recorded what he saw going on around him. The Gospel that bears his name came as a result. Matthews experience points out that each of us, from the beginning, is one of God's works in progress. Much of what God has for us he gives long before we are able to consciously respond to him. He trusts us with the skills and abilities ahead of schedule. He has made us each capable of being his servant. When we trust him with what he has given us, we begin a life of real adventure. Matthew couldn't have known that God would use the very skills he had sharpened as a tax collector to record the greatest story ever lived. And God has no less meaningful a purpose for each of us."

This was an excerpt from the bible I was reading tonight. I love this description. I love that they point out the fact that God has already placed in us what we need to carry out his purpose for our lives. He is not going to take it away even if we say no to him. The key is that we have to respond. We have to believe that we are worth more and deserve more than what we have. Do you guys understand that? Do you accept that? You are worth more than what you think of yourself. God desires more for you than you desire for yourself and he has already placed within you what you need in order to fulfil that plan. You just have to be willing to say yes to him and brave enough to leave everything you know behind.

Friday, December 01, 2006

Annoying Stewie

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

Nice:

In a Past Life...

You Were: An Evil Chief.

Where You Lived: Poland.

How You Died: Dysentery.

Who Were You In a Past Life?

Monday, November 20, 2006

This is what I spent my day thinking about. A good piece of chocolate has about 200 calories. As I enjoy
two servings per night, and a few more on weekends, I consume
about 3,500 calories of chocolate in a week, which equals one
pound of weight per week.

Therefore, in the last 3-1/2 years, I have had chocolate
caloric intake of about 180 pounds, and I only weigh 165
pounds. So... without chocolate, I would have wasted away to
nothing about 3 months ago! I owe my life to chocolate!!

"You know you're on a diet when cat food commercials make
you hungry." --Andy Bumatai

"I was stopped once for going fifty-three in a thirty-five
mile zone, but I told them I had dyslexia." --Spanky

"The U.N has evidence of global warming. I picked her up at the airport at 2 in the morning and we went home and talked for a little while. I suppose she went to bed aroun 3:30. Well, when I finally left my room around 1 in the afternoon today I walked thruogh the apartment and saw that my mom was still sleeping. So I woke her up and told her what time it was. She told me she wanted to sleep until three. So I got something to eat and went back to my room. At three o'clock I went and woke her up. She still didn't want to get up and was completely out of it so I let her sleep longer. Just five minutes ago I went into her room to wake her up and insist that she get out of bed because it was almost 4:30. So I layed on top of her till she woke up a little. When I lifted up my head she looked at me and said, "Melissa, there is something on your face." and proceeded to start hitting me in the face to get it off. To which I started yelling. "GLASSES MOM!! I WEAR GLASSES!!!!!!!!!" I don't know what they did to her over in Turkey, but I'm not letting her go back if it means I'm gonna get smacked in the face everytime I wear my glasses.
